Summit Racing hypereutectic pistons are now available for Chevy 383 engines with standard, .030, .040, or .060 oversize bores. Made from a hypereutectic alloy, the pistons expand 15% less than conventional cast pistons for tighter piston-to-wall clearances, reduced blowby, and improved thermal efficiency. Summit Racing hypereutectic pistons are made with 16-18% silicon and a T-5 heat treatment for greater strength, scuff, and seizure resistance. The pistons have a diamond-finished piston skirt and 4 valve reliefs. They provide a 1.433” compression height; deliver a 9.7:1 compression ratio with 64cc combustion chambers; and use 5/64” top ring, 5/64” secondary ring, and 3/16” oil control rings (sold separately).
